The Polypipe Silavent HRX1 is a compact MVHR unit designed to fit within small cupboards such as kitchen units or alternatively within the loft. It has the lowest energy consumption within our range, using only 0.58W/(l/s)! It also has the facility to become completely automated with a summer bypass and frost protection.
Designed for smaller homes the Silavent HRX1 features include:
Solarcrest supply, install and commission MVHR systems throughout the UK. For a free design and quote please send a plan of your property to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0845 833 0388.
The efficiency of the Polypipe Silavent range has been independently verified by the Building Research Establishment (BRE). All units offer between 88% and 95% heat recovery and are listed in the SAP Appendix Q database. The Polypipe Silavent units are ideal for new build properties required to meet CfSH level 3 or above.
All Polypipe Silavent units are compliant under Part F & L of the 2010 Building Regulations.
The Polypipe Silavent HRX1 is designed to be as compact as possible ideal for properties where installation space is restricted. Both light in weight and compact, the HRX1 can be installed in either a kitchen cupboard or loft space. Please check the installation manual for dimensions.
An automatic frost protection is available across the Silavent range which can be factory fitted or installed at a later date. If the outdoor temperature drops below 5°C the air intake is disabled and the unit serves as an 'extract only' system until the weather improves.
An automatic summer bypass is available across the Silavent range which can be factory fitted or installed at a later date. If the outdoor air temperature exceeds the indoor air temperature the heat recovery function is automatically disabled. Under these conditions the unit provides fresh filtered air throughout the property to help reach a pre-set "Comfort Temperature". When the inside air temperature reaches the "Comfort Temperature" the summer bypass is activated. Unlike other units in the market place, the HRX1 features a 100% summer bypass, which maintains air flow without compromising on heat exchange effeciency.
The casing of the HRX1 unit comes as standard as a moulded expanded polypropylene "EPP", like polystyrene. This helps improve the thermal efficiency and maximises air flow. If installing within an area where the unit maybe viewed an optional glossy white metal fascia is available.
The Silavent models have 2 fully adjustable air flow speeds which are adjusted manually on the unit. These settings can be activated on the unit itself or via a wired switch. This allows for a simple and accurate commissioning in addition to user-friendly controls. Solarcrest provide a nationwide supply, installation and commissioning service with BPEC certified installers. We also provide commissioning only, required under 2010 regs, if you prefer to install the system yourself. In which case we can provide installation guidance by telephone and email. Don't forget, draughty trickle vents and airbricks will not be necessary with an MVHR.
Unlike many MVHR units the air filters in the Silavent range only require an annual inspection and clean, normally with a vacuum cleaner. More frequent inspection post-building work is prudent as the filters are likely to pick up more dust than normal. The Silavent range has a unique filter design that can be easily removed from the front panel (even within restricted spaces). Other than the filter inspection the MVHR is a fit and forget item. All Polypipe units come with a 2 year warranty with the facility to upgrade to 5 years for added peace of mind
The MVHR unit has the facility to collect water from the extracted air. This requires a specialist non-return condensate trap for the Silavent range. Please add this to your system. Lengths of 21.5mm dia. standard overflow pipe, this can be acquired at your local builder’s merchants. The condensate pipe ideally should be run to an internal soil pipe but can be routed to an external soil pipe or rainwater down-pipe if appropriately insulated.
Solarcrest will assess your floor plans and ventilation requirements in order to recommend the most appropriate MVHR system. We'll then provide accurate budget costs for the supply, installation and/or commissioning of the system to current building regs. Subject to an initial deposit we release our proposed ducting design and air flow specification for consideration by your building inspector. Subject to approval we can normally have the complete system on site within a week.
